Starting date April 20th

We received an update for the sales agent, he said that our home is scheduled  to start slating on April 20th yea....he also told us that we will probably do the construction meeting the following week.

Grading of the Property

After all the excitement of of choosing a home builder, choosing a community, and choosing a lot...now the waiting game begins. We will be checking on the progress once a week to document the build from start to finish, the Sales Associate told us in the next couple of weeks after they apply and obtain the building permits we will have a pre-construction meeting with the builder to go over the building process, (IT'S HAPPENING!) But for now its just dirt

The Home Building Process

Almost immediately after signing the contract to build and giving our earnest money deposit we had a appointment for the Design Center. "Now we talking," we were told ahead of time that the appointment duration could be up to 4-6 hours we will first be meeting with onduty (the technology guy) to choose all the structure wiring throughout the home, placement of HDMI outlets, security systems, data/networking placements etc. After that we will be meeting with the Design Center Specialist and with her we will be choosing everything from the siding on the house, to the flooring. We had so much fun choosing all of our options, everything about our new home is chosen by us. The Design Center specialist was very helpful in helping us choose the right color palettes, it's hard to Envision the look of the home without someone helping you knowing what goes together "kitchen cabinets colors against this color of granite countertops."she definitely has an eye for design and I used every bit of her expertise to make our home look beautiful. We were there for 6 hours, no surprise! But we enjoyed ever  minute of it

Choosing the right builder

My Husband and I looked into just about every new home builder in our area, we decided early in our home search that we was going to carefully look around for the perfect Builder, the perfect floor plan, and the perfect area. we also found out early that none of those preferences really exist. what it really comes down to is, "who is going to have the options that we are looking for to be standard options not upgrades?" granite countertops, hardwood flooring ect. So in other words, "more bang for the buck" and also built with good quality. that became one of the most important Parts in choosing our home builder. When you are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars you want your new home to look and feel like every dollar you spent or at least we did. So when it came down to quality, standards, an overall look and feel, Meritage Homes became our builder.

I will begin by saying..it is an exciting time for anyone who is building there home and looking forward to the whole process from start to finish. But if you are anything like me, you are searching the web for information on the home building process, constantly looking at the virtual tours of your floor plan and getting more and more excited. so you begin to look for blogs and information on other people's home building process to get your fix, then here you land.
